Meath Partnership are very excited about their next event called Meath Partnership’s ‘Healthy Lives – Healthy Communities Day’ on the 22nd of September. The morning session will focus on how to foster health literacy through family learning, with a key-note from prof. Esther Prins. In the afternoon, we will have Annie Lavin joining us to talk about relationships.

Part 1: Fostering Healthy Communities through Family Learning

Key note speaker: Prof. Esther Prins – US Professor of Adult Education. Dr. Prins holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education from Cornell. Her research employs critical and sociocultural theories to examine adult and family literacy, adult basic education, rural adult education, and participatory approaches to education, community development, and research. In particular, her scholarship explores the “wider benefits” of adult education and how adult education reproduces and/or mitigates inequities rooted in race/ethnicity, class, gender, and immigration status.
