Covid -19 Emergency Fund: Closing date Thursday 12th November 2020

The Department of Rural and Community Development has put in place a COVID-19 Emergency Fund to support community and voluntary groups involved in the delivery of COVID-19 community response efforts. The scheme is for capital expenditure and operational costs related to the COVID-19 response work. Costs could relate to COVID-19 signage, protective screening i.e. perspex, cleaning/sanitizing equipment and materials i.e. steamers, sprays, hand sanitizers, etc.

 

 

The fund is being administered by Meath County Council and operated on a closed call basis with only groups who have registered with MeathPPN invited to submit an application. This email is being sent to you as you are the nominated contact for your community or voluntary group.

The changing lives initiative are hosting FREE Parent Information and Awareness Sessions by ZOOM.

The aim of the sessions are to help parents learn more about ADHD, to look at what behaviours are consistent with it and get some tips and parenting strategies.

These FREE Parent Information and Awareness Sessions take place on:

  • 19th November 2020 @ 6pm – 8pm
  • 20th November 2020 @ 10am – 12pm

The sessions are facilitated by Psychologist, Clare Mc Gready.

Mind Your Wellbeing – A new mental health and well-being programme launched

HSE Health & Wellbeing has launched a new, free, online mental health and wellbeing programme called Minding Your Wellbeing. This evidenced based programme, focusing on the promotion of mental wellbeing, has been adapted from a face-to-face programme into a series of online videos for everyone at this time.

 

What does the programme consist of?

Consisting of 5 video sessions (20 min) which can be accessed by visiting www.yourmentalhealth.ie and following the links.  The content focuses on:

 

  1. Practicing Self-Care

Explores the importance of individual ‘s ‘self-care’ and encourages  participants to build their own ‘self-care toolkit’ which includes healthy habits for their mental health and wellbeing.

  1. Understanding Our Thoughts

Invites participants to reflect on their own thinking and consider how thinking patterns can impact   wellbeing.

  1. Exploring Emotions

Encourages participants to notice their emotions and increase their positive emotions to improve their wellbeing.

  1. Building Positive Relationships

Discusses ways in which participants can nurture, value and foster positive relationships which are so important for mental wellbeing.

  1. Improving Our Resilience

Invites participants to improve their resilience, learn about the building blocks of resilience including the importance of focussing on strengths.

 

This programme provides a unique opportunity for everyone to learn and practice key elements of mental wellbeing such as mindfulness, gratitude, self-care and resilience. Free Online Resilience Training with Meath Partnership

Meath Partnership are hosting free online Resilience training, and anyone with a Meath address can avail of this free workshop.

The trainer is going to primarily focus on the following:

Understanding what resilience really is!
Appreciating how everyone can build their resilience
Defining your current sources of strength and resilience
Identifying areas where you can deepen your resilience
Understanding the role of relationships in our resilience
Knowing when to push on; when to step ; and when it is right to ask for support
Developing new tools and techniques to change your perspective; manage stress; optimise your physical resilience; and deploy your strengths
Building a personal resilience action plan
